The method

F.O.C.U.S. is a decision system, not a slogan.

Each layer protects a different part of leadership judgment. Skip a layer and the next one becomes expensive noise. Work them in order and decisions get cheaper, faster, and harder to regret.

One framework, two applications

I teach these same five layers for a life and for an organization. The layer never changes. The room you are standing in does. So each layer below shows the personal line and the organizational line, side by side, and you can read the one you came here for.

  1. 01

    F

    Foundation

    The Clarity Layer

    Understand. Protects clarity.

    In your life
Identity, mindset, and the inner work underneath the decision.
    In your organization
Values, context, and the source material a decision rests on.
  2. 02

    O

    Opportunity

    The Capacity Layer

    Identify. Protects capacity.

    In your life
Recognizing the open door, and naming what you keep carrying alone.
    In your organization
Where the organization repeatedly sorts, delays, rebuilds, or duplicates effort.
  3. 03

    C

    Create

    The Visibility Layer

    Build. Protects visibility.

    In your life
Taking aligned action and building what you were made to build.
    In your organization
Turning the decision into one concrete system, offer, policy, or artifact.
  4. 04

    U

    Uplift

    The Trust Layer

    Care. Protects trust.

    In your life
Elevating your standards, habits, and environment so the people around you feel the difference.
    In your organization
Reviewing the experience end to end so no one is left confused, delayed, or unseen.
  5. 05

    S

    Support

    The Sustainability Layer

    Sustain. Protects freedom.

    In your life
Community, accountability, and the monthly rhythm that keeps it alive.
    In your organization
Reviews, stewardship, and the maintenance practices that keep the system from being abandoned.

One framework, every room

I use this same framework whether I am coaching someone through a personal reset, advising a founder team, or convening the Cbus AI Task Force. The layer never changes. The room changes.

From framework to service

The same layers, matched to what you are building.

The framework is not a front door to a sales pitch. It is the operating system behind every container I offer. Each layer points to a common service need, and the right container depends on your room.

The diagnostic turns this model into 20 scored questions and 5 reflection prompts. Your answers produce a total score, a band, and a bottleneck layer. The bottleneck is where your next decision lives.
